COSMETOLOGY
Cosmetology is a field that encompasses various beauty and grooming services, including hair care, skin care, nail care, and makeup application.

At Valynn, you will learn various techniques including: cutting, coloring, and styling hair, providing skincare treatments such as facials and massages, performing nail care services such as manicures and pedicures, and applying makeup for different occasions and clients.

Classes begin 3 times a year; fall, spring, and summer. The cosmetology program begins with our hair basics class where you will study the anatomy of hair, sanitation and safety practices, client communication, and business management skills, and you will have the opportunity to participate in practicals and start working on live models. Cosmetology students also get the opportunity to study treatments related to skin and nails. To complete the Cosmetology curriculum you will need to attend 1600 hours.

As you near graduation, you will be required to pass a licensing exam which includes two sections, a practical and a written test.
